Upon graduation from the Miami City Ballet School, 18-year-old Xavier Cave will jette off to join New York City's famed Dance Theatre of Harlem. Seventeen-year-old Jeanette Delgado will become a bona fide member of our own Miami City Ballet. And Lindsey Barber, at the ripe old age of 19, will dance with the Alabama Ballet. You can marvel at these and other soloists-in-the-making before they take center stage with prestigious companies when they perform at the annual Miami City Ballet School's Student Showcase tonight at 6:00 at the Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts (1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach). The school -- run by Linda Villella, wife of MCB artistic director Edward Villella -- will mark its tenth anniversary with the students dancing to George Balanchine's Who Cares?, which centers around the story of a guy dating three (in this case) very graceful girls, set to music by George Gershwin. Miami City Ballet favorites La Source and Ballabile are also on the program. Tickets to the performance only cost $10 and $25. Tickets for the gala dinner and silent auction at the ballet's headquarters (2200 Liberty Ave., Miami Beach) immediately following the show cost $100 and $200 and will benefit a very worthy cause -- the ballet school's scholarship fund. All the makings of serious childhood trauma or just some touching drama are in the comedic play Switching Places, presented by the Modern Youth Players at 7:00 tonight and 3:00 Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the Miami Museum of Science and Space Transit Planetarium (3280 S.
