That's it like to be the mother of a prophet? We couldn't tell you, but Cedella Booker Marley, mother of Bob, gives us a glimpse in her book Bob Marley, My Son.After all, she has a lot to be proud of. Her son was not only a zillion-selling recording artist, but his funky reggae gave voice to the world's poor and oppressed. The dreadlocked great one is bigger than Elvis. Today Mother B, as she's known, resides in Miami and Jamaica. She recently released her third recording, A Woman Divine, in which she sings about her life in a gravelly earthbound voice. The venerable mom talks about her book and signs copies at 8:00 p.m. at Borders Books and Music, 3390 Mary St., Coconut Grove. Admission is free. Well, here's a chance to get the abridged version of the story, concerning a wrongly convicted man and the dignity he achieves in facing death. Chat with author Ernest Gaines and get a preview of the moving novel during a special presentation tonight at 7:30 at Miami-Dade Community College Wolfson Campus (300 NE Second Ave., auditorium). Lousiana-born Gaines, whose 1971 book The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman is etched in the memory of many, will graciously take questions from the audience and be interviewed by actor/professor Robert Strain. Before that happens, thespians from GableStage will offer a dramatic reading of Romulus Linney's two-act play adapted from Gaines's novel. Admission is free. Struggling rap artists, spoken-word mavens, and starry-eyed entertainers will be schooled at how to best market their gifts at the Entertainment Industry Incubator, a business panel led by corporate attorney Marlon A.
