This Week's Day by Day Picks

Wednesday 5/7

ZZ Top is not dead. Nor did it rise from the dark side with its opening act, Ted Nugent. If you thought worms would be finished gnawing the bones of these rock and roll geezers by now, you might be in for a surprise. The old farts are back, playing a beer-soaked, titty-flopping triple bill (with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Double Trouble) called the Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers Tour at West Palm Beach's Sound Advice Amphitheatre (601-7 Sansbury's Way). Hell, with Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, and even Styx and Kansas continuing to tour these days, it makes you wonder if some of these shows might be underwritten by Viagra. Supplemented by Geritol or not, ZZ is always a safe bet for kick-ass rock and roll. Just remember the ass may be sagging a little and the sharp-dressed man may actually be flaccid. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets range from $22.50 to $47.50. Call 561-793-0445
