It's just not groovy to live in grime, baby. Shag-alicious hipsters don't do the shabby, get my drift? In The Secret Adventures of R.E. Cycle, outta-sight secret agent R.E. Cycle soils his radical duds cleaning up the environment after he is freed from a bottle of Tab. The polyester-clad magnet of mod hooks up with his friend, a student named B. Green, to save the world from evil pollution-mongers. It's a dirty job, but if there's anyone who can save planet Earth from pollution's stranglehold, it's the shaggy-haired agent and his crew of fresh young followers. They team up to fight grime and perform fabulous songs and dances from the 1960s. In their plight, the clean-air heroes encounter endangered birds and animals who explain how man's harmful ways are destroying their ecosystems and killing their friends and families. Watch as R.E. Cycle and his buddies travel the world in pursuit of the Garbage Menace in this supercool musical extravaganza for kids. The Fantasy Theater Factory presents the show at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Miami Design Preservation League, 1001 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach. Admission is free. Call 305-284-8800. -- Jyan Carlos Rodriguez

Friday 4/11

Animals House

Where the wild things are

Do elephants lie down when they sleep? How about zebras or giraffes? Do they get any shuteye at all? Attend Wild Nights at Metrozoo (12400 SW 152nd St.) this Friday evening and you just might find out where animals make their beds, if they snore, or if they have to pop pills such as Ambien to get some rest. From 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. 30 lucky people, including adults and children over five years old, will get a guided behind-the-scenes look at the fatigued beasts and then enjoy a pizza dinner. Admission is $28 per person. Preregistration is required. Call 305-255-5551. --Nina Korman
