This Week's Day-by-Day Picks

February 26, 2003

Yes, the Voodoo Glow Skulls may have a creepy Halloweenish, Day of the Dead-type name, but the kind of music they play isn't scary at all. They're purveyors of an almost-jolly mixture of punk and ska, a bouncy mishmash of rip-roaring guitars, dynamic drumming, and exuberant horns. The eclectic sextet who hail from Riverside, California, and have been on the music scene since 1988, even sing some songs in Spanish. This evening the Skulls play an all-ages show with Roger Miret & the Disasters and Irish Car Bomb at the Factory, 2674 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets cost $12. Call 954-564-7625.
