After slowing down to croon a few tunes with producer Kike Santander, Gisselle is back to merengue and has thrown a little bachata, ballad, and even ranchera in the mix. But this former choreographer -- who first grabbed the mike when one of the singers in the Puerto Rican girl group Las Chicas de Puerto Rico dropped out -- is at her best onstage, which is where she will be, closing out Calle Ocho as this year's Carnaval Miami Queen. Look out for more hear-me-roar anthems about infidelity, feminism, and fighting back. The voice behind "I'm Going to Take Off This Ring" says her strength appeals to women but men get the message too. Watching the Puerto Rican powerhouse dance, that's not all they get, we bet.
