In Clubland

Apocalyptic noise from Cavity and the Crumbs

Bash (655 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) picks up steam early next week, building to the millennium blowout. The club will be open Monday and Tuesday to make sure the decade-theme nights roll along uninterrupted. Monday is the Last Days of the Decade party, featuring a Sixties tribute; Tuesday is Flashback Seventies; Wednesday night is called Greed Is Good (what decade other than the Eighties could that be?); and Thursday, December 30, the night before the big bash, will be They're Almost Over: Bye-Bye to the Nineties. Cover charge each night is ten dollars, and the parties start at 10:00. Call 305-538-2274 for more information.

If you want to say bye-bye to your ear drums, and rid yourself of holiday angst at the same time, then Churchill's Hideaway (5501 NE Second Ave.) has the Christmas evening party for you. Our own volume cowboys from the abyss, Cavity, return after yet more personnel changes. This time original vocalist Rene Barge is back on track and leading the pack with his unpredictable performances. The group is joined by local punk outfit the Crumbs and the England-based Redshift, which joins various elements of noise and electronica to create a singularly odd sonic assault. Cover charge is five dollars, and doors open at 9:00 p.m. Call 305-757-1807 for more information.
