Girl Talk

Up on the site right now are lists of Watt's and Thorn's favorite party guests (singer Dusty Springfield, poet Anne Sexton, author Martin Amis, and singer/guitarist Jonathan Richman), as well as a place called Tracey's Den, where she reveals her favorite singers (Liam Gallagher and Jeff Buckley among them), not to mention her "fave girl things," like MAC Redwood Tone lipstick. And they list their own favorite music: Ash, the new John Coltrane box on Rhino, and the new albums by Beck, De La Soul, and Beth Orton.

"We tried to give a fairly reasonably broad cross-section of music we're into, not just stuff that's in my DJ box," says Watt. "Things like the Ash, that John Coltrane anthology, that was exceptional. In a way it's an attempt to maintain this sense of cross-fertilization Everything But the Girl is really all about. I like being a band that's constantly blurring the boundaries."

Everything But the Girl performs Friday, December 6, at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre, 1806 NE 6th St, Pompano Beach; 954-946-2402. Showtime is 8:00 p.m. Tickets cost $21.
