Into the Night

Raver madness arrives this Friday as Megacult, the German group known for its unique dance events (traveling raves across Europe, airborne raves in chartered jets, last year's tribal gathering in the Mohave desert), launches Transatlantic Move II, a progressive rave in two segments, one in the tropical paradise of the Bahamas, the other in the tropical paradise that some people believe is South Beach. Unlike most parties, half the fun of this one will be simply getting there -- or floating there. The Ocean Breeze will carry revelers across the deep blue sea from Miami to Freeport at noon on Friday. The usual cruise-ship gambling and gamboling will have a musical accompaniment of house, techno, hip-hop, and other brands of moving mood music. Ravers from near and far will then be ushered to the Buccaneer Beach Club for the Bermuda Triangle Move, which will groove all night long. The Move crew then returns the party animals to the ship for more on-board fun -- or sleep -- and sets sail for the next port of call: Nassau. Party at the port or shop till you drop Saturday afternoon and deep into the night before weighing anchor on Sunday for a leisurely cruise back to Miami, arriving at the port around 7:00 p.m. That should give you just enough time to rush home, take a power nap, and get ready for the final event at Miami Beach mega club Salvation (1771 West Ave., 673-6508). The party there starts early (9:00 p.m.) and promises more dreamy music and trance-dancing to your throbbing heart's content. The whole package is yours for a mere $385.
