Kassav's lead singer, Jocelyne Berouard, speaking on the phone from Paris, was asked to speculate about Miami's reaction to Africa Fete. "People can party, no problem," she proclaimed. "This music is cool, and summer is the right time for that."

Africa Fete '94 takes place Saturday, July 30, at Marlin Gardens, 12th Street and Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $12.50 the day of the show. For more information call 672-5202.
